Heads Up!

This month I'm fundraising for Mermaids!

Mermaids is a charity that supports trans youth and their families.

As someone who was a trans youth in 2016 I can say that seeking gender affirming care was hard and has become even harder in 2024. You can help by either donating or sharing the link to my Just Giving Page using the QR code below.

First Day of My Last Year of College

Today was my first day of the last year of my government funded education.

I met my peers for this year, reunited with a couple of my friends, and met my tutor for this year. Things seem a lot less misogynistic compared to last year. My tutor for this year has taught at my college for at least 20 years so he's unlikely to leave us after a few months, unlike all of my tutors last year.

Offering all the help I can,

Xavier

My Birthday

It's my 24th today. I got multiple bat-themed items from my mum and an olive tree (that I called Oliver) from my sister. I have yet to see my dad (and his girlfriend).

I spent the day at college and turned over compost at college in the afternoon.

My mum, sister and I celebrated by ordering a Thai meal and a caterpillar cake from Tesco.

Cheers to those who support me,

Xavier

Seeing a Modern Classic With My Family

Today we made one thing on my bucket list come true, going to see Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre. It goosebumps seeing it in person, and my sister really got into it.

After the show, I bought programme and a CD of the Hamilton Broadway Cast Recordings. I also read the programme at the resturant before our meals were served.

Halloumi All Around

After seeing one of the best shows at the West End, we went to Bill's. I heard that they did a pretty good halloumi burger so I foraged the menu to see if they did one. My mum and I ordered one each and my sister ordered a halloumi shawarma. The legends were true and the halloumi burger was great.

My Life Post-Hamilton

After the show my mum realised the reason why american politics are the the way they are and decided to be less harsh on America as a whole.

When I got home I listened to "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto which was composed by the same the guy who wrote Hamilton, Lin Manuel-Miranda.

My sister has started singing "The Schyler Sisters", "Helpless" and "Satisfied" from Hamilton.

Promising to not throw away my shot,

Xavier
